Book a Consultation

Whether you choose Coaching or Therapy, booking a free consultation is the first step.

Coaching
may be a good fit if…

  • You live anywhere in the world with access to the internet

  • You’re ready to move forward, but are having a hard time getting started

  • You’re looking for practical trauma-informed skills to build resilience

  • You want to move through your deconstruction with more clarity

  • You want to understand how adverse religious experiences impact your life

  • You’re working with a therapist who doesn’t understand religious trauma

  • You’re feeling stuck in old patterns and want to develop new ways of thinking and being in the world

Therapy
may be a good fit if…

  • You live in Idaho where I’m licensed to provide therapy online or in-person

  • You’re experiencing distress related to religious trauma or another mental health disorder

  • You’re ready to resolve your religious trauma

  • You want to work with a professional who is able to assess, diagnose, and treat mental disorders

  • You want to use your insurance or HSA

  • You want to experience the safety and connection that comes from resolving religious trauma.

What to Expect

When you book a consultation, my system will send you a confirmation email with a private video link and a brief questionnaire to fill out before our visit.

When you join me for your consultation visit:

  • We’ll greet each other and perform the requisite technology ritual “can you see and hear me okay?”

  • I like to begin consultations the same way I begin coaching and therapy sessions, by taking a moment to settle in. This typically takes the form of “exploratory orienting” or “small talk.”

  • Exploratory orienting is simply turning side-to-side and noticing your surroundings. This takes some of the pressure off, and is a good way to connect with things in your environment that feel safe and familiar. For me, it’s usually the Ash tree outside of my window or one of the plants on my desk.

  • Once we settle in, I’ll invite you to share as much or as little as feels comfortable about why you’re seeking support.

  • Then I’ll briefly describe my approach to therapy or coaching and answer any questions you may have.

  • There's no pressure to make a decision during the consultation. In fact, I encourage you to take some time to make sure it feels like a good fit before you decide.

  • After the consultation, I'll email you the next steps for moving forward with therapy or coaching.

It’s that simple! Most folks who join me for a consultation say it was a helpful experience whether they decide to work with me or not.

I look forward to connecting with you soon!
